Just adopted a rather large male iguana from a friend goes by the name of squiggy. The enclose is massive 6.5 ft high, 6.5 feet wide, 10 feet in length. There are two levels to the cage with the higher side being the basking area. In the basking area there are two hot rocks and two heating lamps (which are always kept on). Squiggy tends to stay in this area. Currently there are no thermometers in the cage. From what I have read the cage should contain at least a hot and cold side thermometer and a timer for the lights. My question is this; how do I go about acclimating squiggy to a timer system when he has had full light for at least the past three years, and how do I go about hooking up a timer system. thanks
