I think we are doing better now

I omitted lettuce from Spikes diet, which I knew was bad for him. But that is what he has ate for the passed year with my sister. He absolutely loves collard greens! He even ate it when my 3yo was giving it to him. So snatching, puffing, moving away.. nothing but calm when he did it!! I've mixed veggies with them so he is getting that also. He has never had veggies before. No more dry food either. What a difference a day makes!
I'm able to touch him for more than a sec too. He does lean towards me which from reading here I know its a defensive sign. But I'm hoping eventually he will no longer do that.
And I raise the shades so he can baske in the sun light for as long as he wants. Since he doesn't seem to care to much for the aquarium any way, I'm letting him free roam for a lot longer, he just might be a constant free roamer except when I sleep which so far seems to be when he potties anyway. Is it ok to do this?
