he has such strange habits

He sleeps in the evenings-late nights. But the strange thing is that he sleeps on a lamp that I have thats metal! It's cold! Why does he do this?
I asked my sister if she knew about what his sleeping habits were and she said the same times. He would actually wake the kids up at night making noise in his aquarium, so I guess he has decided not to be a late late night sleeper.
I have lights set up in the living room for him to go. Heat for basking, UV for the rays.. but he still prefers the window... even after dark, and the dang cold lamp! I don't think he realizes he's a lizard....LOL
