ok ~ i'm confused (my normal state anyway! :) )

are you looking for a new home for this ig or suggestions on how to live with him???

as far as a new home ~ there *are* alot of good rescue people out there that can help find a good home if that's what you want to do ... i agree it stinks to be looking for a new home after all this time, but you're going about it the right way so no static from me on that … and it really seems that there are igs who are just not happy unless they are an "only child" … Ziggy's been with you all of his life + sounds like you've done a good job taking care of him + his brother ~

i know that a lot of people *do* have multiple igs, and personally, it's totally beyond me how they cope! … i have one adult male and *he* runs me ragged …

ok ~ other thoughts ~
is he in season??? is this a sudden change or has this been a gradually worsening thing in general?

if it's a rather sudden change in his personality, my 1st thought would be that he is trying to tell you something is wrong, that he's sick, that he hurts somewhere ... (time to go to the vet in other words)

if it's been a gradually worsening thing *and* you want to try + turn things around ... hmmmmmmm ...
i'm guessing + assuming here, no offense intended if i guess wrong ok? (plus i don't have my full dose of caffiene in me yet!)

are the 2 igs are in seperate enclosures??? can they see each other all day??? is one able to get higher in his enc. than the other?? sounds like maybe Ziggy is trying desperately to be the alpha male and feels unable to accomplish that ...

one thing that could help is maybe getting him more time out of his enclosure ~ the extra physical activity could burn off some of that extra aggression ~ and the choice of having a change of scenery could improve his outlook as well … is it possible to sometimes leave the enc. door open + give him the option of coming out to roam (in an 'ig-proofed' area)?

ok ~ just re-read your post ~ did Ziggy's problems start/get worse when you started taking in resuce igs?!?!?
Ziggy's behavior sounds kinda like iZ's jealous rages ~
whether it's cuz he's spoiled or cuz he thinks his alpha-ness is being challenged, he's extremely jealous of any + all other small critters that come into HIS house ~ … iZ is jealous if we puppy-sit my son's dog, threw a MAJOR month-long snit fit when i rescued a baby iglet last year that only ended when the iglet moved out, and can hardly stand human infants ~ he even reacts to the sound of a baby on TV crying!
his reaction to feeling jealous is to get VERY aggressive towards ME ~ his way of trying to "claim me" as his alone …
(he + i have compromised ~ no more rescues or puppy-sitting, but i'm NOT getting rid of the g-daughters! *grin*)

the more i think of it, the more i wonder if that could be THE source of the problem???

Bon.
