: Finally a question I can respond too!!! Matthew I can't give you any solid answers but you say you don't want to give him up to Adoption because "THAT IS NOT THE CASE"!!! Which case is that??? When you give up your child you have not many choices but abortion or adoption and since this ig is alive and well what choice do you have now!!! I have been in contact with some great, knowledgable people these last couple weeks, and guess what, some of them own, work, and recommend IGUANA RESCUE CENTERS! These people know what there doing and I suggest them to take your ig in. It's the least you can do for him. Wait for some people to respond also and I am sure they'll give you a link to contact someone who'll take care of this deserving creature!!! Hope you make the right choice, and Good luck...Buy the way...What's this IG's name????
NO! it's not the least I can do for him! The least I can do is either keep him or take the time to find him a good home on my own time. I'm not going to put the extra load on the back of an already overloaded rescue agency. He is not abused, not in need of rescuing, and is superbly taken care of. The fact of the matter is the there might be someone who would enjoy him as a single pet and has the time to work with an aggresive ig. The fact that he is aggressive is not neglect he simply does not like other leaving creatures. He dosen't need a good home, but if one arises and could work with an ornery iguana I would glady give him to a GOOD HOME. I'm sure the resuce centers are great, but he is in no danger of abuse and never has been. He dosen't need to be rescued, but a loving home would take a lot of work off my shoulders since I am in college. The only thing I have done wrong here is buy 2 igs, but guess what I did that when I was 14 and didn't know better. I am now 21 and the ig WILL NOT GO TO A RESCUE CENTER were I don't know who will get him. I will be the judge of were he goes if a good enough home arises. Such a large and aggresive ig needs special care. So your whole thing about adoption and abortion is just crap, don't write an aggressive responce to my post about an Ig you know nothing about. I do appreciate your responce, but your tone and comments like "It's the least you can do for him" anger me to say the least. I have cared for and been around iguanas since the mid eighties, have a veterinarian as a cousin and much experience with these animal. I myself have taken in and found homes for about 4 IGs. I am so picky about homes it took me 6 months and about 30 potential people to place a pair of IGs. The fact of the matter is if someone would enjoy him more than I and could aleviate a little stress from me then so be it. if not he is fine were he is. And his name is Ziggy.
