Some iguanas just prefer to be only children ... We run a small resuce out of the house and we have one iguana in particular who is like this. He finger paints with his feces when we put his enclosure in a room with other iguanas. It just kills me because he is *my* iguana that kinds of started us down this road. The few times I have sent him to stay with friends he has been fantasticly well behaved and when he;s been back here awhile he just reverts to bad behavior.

But I digress, the whole reason I wanted to post to you Matthew is to thank you for trying to deal with the problem on your own. All too often people literally dump their problem iguana on a rescue and most of the times iguana rescues, like the one we run here, are small programs run and funded by well regular people. If you lived in our area I would do whatever I could to help you place your ig in a good home and I bet if you can find a local rescue in your area they will do the same for you. The other option is to place a free ad in the local newspaper and screen like crazy to find a good home. We estimate that for every 10 calls we get, 5 applications go out and no more than 3 ever return and of those only 1-2 actually qualify. It's hard work finding good homes!

Good luck!
