basic considerations:
keep him *warm* ~ 85-90 degrees

get him hydrated ~ go slow
(a cool mist humidifier for humans is *great* to use to increase humidity for him)

get calorie intake up ~ **slowly**
(i'd hazard a guess that at this point in his life, he probably can't handle eating "regular" ig-salad, sounds like it's been quite a while since he *had* any food to digest ....)

a daily soak in a warm tub *if* it's not totally stressful for him ~ will encourage him to void ...
~~

you asked about amount of pedialyte per day ~ how *big* is the syringe??? 5cc, 10cc, more??? believe the general guideline is about 10cc fluid per pound of ig's weight ~ per day ... but as was mentioned, go slooooow ~ very gradually increase over days so you don't overwhelm his system ... if possible, it'd be better to space the 'drinks' out to 3-4 times a day ~ that depends on *your* schedule AND how stressful it is for Adam tho ... at least try to make it in 2 shifts ... *warm* the pedialyte before giving it to him ...

when iZ was sick, i'd make "collard mush" for him and either syringe feed or spoon feed him ~ depending on how he felt that day ~ (i use one of those little rubber-tipped infant spoons) ... puree the heck out of the collards in a blender, adding pedialyte ... it'll help his system get used to processing food again ~

at one point in his life, iZ was on a total liquid diet for 2 months ... (*sigh*) ... i used something called "Naturade" to make his collard-mush with ~it's powdered + made from plant protein ~ not that i'd necessarily recommend *that* high of an amount of protein, but it got the calories in him when there was no other way ... (i'll look for my link + post it if you're interested)

iZ sends lots of *head bobobbbbs* for Adam to heal + feel better and he sends lots of *tongue flix* + *sneezes* to YOU for caring ...

me? i just send lots + lots of positive energy your way!

Bon. + iZ
(btw ~ i am NOT "xta"!)
