Hi all. In a couple of days I will be adopting a 5 year old male green iguana. I just have a few questions I need answered.
1. The iguana automized his tail about a year ago. How long does it take to grown back.
2. He has a couple of toes missing. Is that going to shorten his life or cause any problems later on.
3. Two or three of his dorsal spikes were accidently burned off somehow. Is that bad aswell or is this a normal thing.
4. If the iguana has been living for 5 years and is eating and defecating well and properly, are there any chances that it may have salmonella or internal parasites.
5. How long do iguanas live.
6. I have heard that iguanas will go into depression if they go to a new family. How will this affect him and how long will the depression last.
7. How do I trim the toe nails of male iguanas.
8. Should the full spectrum and uv basking light be on timers.
9. Am I goin crazy.ehehehehehehehehehehehehhahahahahahahahahahehehehhohohohoho
10. Will it be really aggressive when I first aquire it.
11. What is the best way to transport an adult male for a car ride of just over an hour.
12. How do iguanas do for the occasional walk outside.
13. Can they be handled a lot.
14. Can they learn to trust a new owner.
Thanks for answering all my questions.
sorry its long.
