: 1. The iguana automized his tail about a year ago. How long does it take to grown back.
A. The iguanas tail may never grow back in full. At that age it won't be the size it would have been if it hadn't fallen off.

: 2. He has a couple of toes missing. Is that going to shorten his life or cause any problems later on.
Other people on the forum have iguanas with missing toes, and if I remember correctly as long as they have healed properly it causes no problems and most iguanas don't even notice it.

: 3. Two or three of his dorsal spikes were accidently burned off somehow. Is that bad as well or is this a normal thing.
Well as I said above other people on the forum have iguanas with hardly any spikes at all! As ong as burns have healed properly spikes may or may not grow back.

: 4. If the iguana has been living for 5 years and is eating and defecating well and properly, are there any chances that it may have salmonella or internal parasites.
Salmonella is in almost every reptiles gut. You get salmonella from them by not practicing proper cleaning methods. Internal parasites are something you should have the vet check for with a simple fecal exam.

: 5. How long do iguanas live.
In captivity with proper care an iguana can live 20+ years.

: 6. I have heard that iguanas will go into depression if they go to a new family. How will this affect him and how long will the depression last.
Iguanas hate changes. Hate them. Although my iguana did just fine moving from her previous home here. Some take months to adjust.

: 7. How do I trim the toe nails of male iguanas.
You can ask a vet to show you how easily. It is very simple

: 8. Should the full spectrum and uv basking light be on timers.
They don't have to be on timers if you get up at the iguanas time every morning, but it makes life MUCH easier. Iguanas get up at sunrise normally!

: 9. Am I goin crazy.ehehehehehehehehehehehehhahahahahahahahahahehehehhohohohoho

: 10. Will it be really aggressive when I first aquire it.
It all depends! What do you know about this iguana? It might be very friendly or very untame. Males also go into breeding season every year and can get quite feisty.

: 11. What is the best way to transport an adult male for a car ride of just over an hour.
Some people like using a large cardboard box. Some like pillowcases, some use cat carriers. It just depends on what you have and how large he is.

: 12. How do iguanas do for the occasional walk outside.
If they are used to walks, quite well. But some/most will take off unless they are wearing a proper harness. An outdoor cage works best until you know your iguana better.

: 13. Can they be handled a lot.Everyday! I pet Roxy at least 6 times a day in her cage, she comes out whenever she wants!

: 14. Can they learn to trust a new owner.Yes! But it takes lot of time and patience. Sometimes even months. You have to go at the iguanas pace.
