My new baby Zila is not eating again. He hasn't ate one thing for a few days and only has eaten off and on since we've had him. I noticed he had hurt his leg some how and it was pretty swollen. We went to the vet last night and she said his leg ins't broken or out of joint. She believes he fell on it or got it hung on something causing the injury. She said he was very malnourished and dehydrated. She could see all his bones. I told her he won't eat anything and I've been trying to feed w/ a syringe but he only eats a little bit...I didn't know how to get his mouth open. She showed me how to open his mouth, I told her I was afraid of breaking a bone or someting because he is so tiny. She said not to worry about that but to force food in him. After we got home from the vets I pureed a piece of collard green, slice of zucchini, slice of yellow squash, slice of green bell pepper and some water cress leaves and stems w/ about 1/4 cup of water. I forced some down him then took him to the tub for a soak. After soaking we went outside to dry in the sun then I forced more food later that evening. I checked on him before his lights went out and he didn't look as wrinkled on his sides as before but I could still see every bone in his body. I'm gonna keep force feeding him but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or have experienced this before.
