I am unsure about your iguana opening his mouth, are you sure he wasn't yawning? I've seen mine do that, but I don't think it's likely that's what it was. Just a guess though. As for the head bobbing, that is very common in igs. It's not necessarily aggressive, just a dominating/territorial thing. Also sort of a mating ritual. They especially do this when they see themselves in front of a mirror. Mine is obsessed with himself in the mirror. However, it's best to keep them away from mirrors because they can get aggressive and hurt themselves. Hope that helps any...
