sounds like he's done a good job of training YOU! LOL!!!!! i HAVE heard that igs get spoiled very quickly and can really decide that they like this hand-feeding service!
if he's healthy and is just trying to teach YOU tricks, i'd not hand feed him any more .... from the sounds of things, he's awfully hungry by 6pm when you give in and hand feed him .... i'll bet he doesn't skip more than 1 or 2 meals before he gives in and eats on his own! put a couple of pieces of his favorite thing on top and set it in front of him .... he may not like it, but he'll figure it out soon enough! you will of course, get dirty looks and sad faces from him .... but he really CAN eat by himself so don't let him guilt trip you! *grin*
as far as the "fighting" when you try to hold him, etc. .... lots of patience and persistance! he jsut needs to get to know you and trust you and that can take a while .... igs are used to being someone's food, so they're a tad bit paranoid ....
