My ig broke his leg last week and he has a vet appointment very soon. In the meantime, my vet told me to make sure he was warm and moist enough, and he gave me some bone meal to use on his food. Now, this stuff really seems to have made a difference already. He has perked up and is more active than he has been, and he seems in a better mood. I have been adding one pinch of it to his food daily (he's only a year and a half old so he's not real big). He's gotten used to the taste and is eating well.
I want to make it clear that I trust my vet, and that he really is trustworthy. But I still want to know if anyone out there has a breakdown on the nutritional value of this stuff. Does it have the proper calcium/phosphorous ratio? I asked the vet if the protein was going to be bad for him and he said that it doesn't have enough to hurt him. I am going to ask more questions and get more info when I go back in for the appointment, but I would appreciate any input you helpful folks could give me before then.
Where I live it is hard for me to find some of the recommended greens seasonally, and I kind of have to go with what I can get. Is this stuff safe as a mineral supplement? If you can include references to the source of your information, I would be really incredibly grateful.
Thank you so much in advance, and thanks from Pellinore, too!
