They carry Salmonella, so they can do lotsa harm to small children, "older" people, and people with a weak immune system.

It's not just a small bite that they can deliver, they can deliver a horrible bite, one that can end up with the loss of a finger. There can be a serious infection from the bite. A good tail thwap can give you a great deal of a bruise.

I guess my point is...

Iguana's, as easy as they are to love, as beautiful and cuddly as they can be...

They are also wild animals, who are very capable of inflicting a serious wound, and so much more. Iguana's, like all animals.. (and sometimes people too!) are unpredictable. You must ALWAYS have your guard on, no matter what. A seemingly calm and tranquil situation can turn nasty in a split second.
