In fact, mealworms ARE animal protein, there being no difference between insects and any other animal when it comes to a protien source. I agree that no animal protein should be fed, and this would include the mealworms. Bottom line: iguanas don't need it to thrive, and feeding it in any quanity can cause kidney problems. Feed your igs a proper, high quality vegetarian diet, and they'll do fine. This is my opinion, of course. Refer to the links already supplied on good diets...
