do all lizards need sunlight or uv?

this is a general question and since this is a busy forum i might have more possibilities of getting replies.

so do all lizards need sunlight or uv? i know it has to do with vit D production but what about nocturnal spieces. wouldn't a heat gradient be enough? thanks for any replies.
