i saw a tv show (maybe discovery) and they compared day geckos to the nocturnal ones. in the study they discovered that night geckos, having come out at dusk and being exposed to limited sunlight, were able to produce about that same amount if not more of d3 (i think thats what they said) as did the day geckos. this would mean that full spectrum light is benefical. in personal experience, it noticably helps with coloration.
