Green iguana spikes

I was wondering what i can do to make my green iguana's spikes better looking. I see many igs that have perfect spikes, but can't figure out how Retardo (my green ig) messes up his spikes all the time. One is curved, and about ten others have the tips broken off slightly. They don't cause him any discomfort, i would just like to know if this is able to be fixed. Oh, he free roams my house if that helps.
