Iguana03 is right on the money on how those spikes can get bummed out. Look around and see if there is anything she may be rubbing her back on to possibly help her shed. Another thing that can make the spikes look bad is a bad shed. Both of ours have trouble shedding their spikes. I help by misting them down heavily and then gently kind of pluck up on each spike. If the shed is ready, it comes right off......I'm talking gently pull....don't force it because you can cause damage.
