blue/black lighting

Roxys basking light (white spotlight kind) burnt out yesterday, so last night I sent my boyfriend to the store to buy her a new one. He came home with a "Night Glow, nocturnal infared heat lamp" 150 watts. Will this work for her basking area like the white bulb did?
