My dog (who is AARP age) had no cancerous tumors under her legs. It cost me 167.00 for tests & then 501.00 to remove them. My credit card is now maxed - but I did it because I love her. And let me say that if I had to have Stone (my ig) operated on & the cost was 800.00 - I would ask the vet to make payments. Most vets in this situation will allow you to post date checks. Have you looked into it?
Years ago my friends ig needed an emergency spay & it cost her 800.00 - and 2 weeks later she died anyway. But --- her owner loved her enough to try & save her, not contemplated ways to end her life.
Also, you said if anyone wants to "convince you about adoption"? If you want to end her life, wouldnt you GLADLY give her up to a willing adoptive family who would like to try & save her?
Just for the record... I am in debt up to my ears, but I love my pets & have made the commitment to do the best that is available on the Earth for them - that is part of the responsibility of being a pet owner.
If you arent willing to go into debt (and in the grand scale of things... 800.00 is not deep debt)for your pet, then you shouldnt own any more pets in the future.
