I have used glass and plexiglass and have not had any reflection issues with any of my lizards-- that is not to say that it isn't a possibility, but you know your lizard better than anyone else. Why not make the back wood, and the three sides plexiglass? This way she won't feel so vulnerable (she can hide against the back and under objects-- mine does this) But she still has a pretty good view. Either that or make your two smaller sides plexi like you said. Just keep in mind that wood is a real pain to clean if she ever likes to fingerpaint you a feces picture. Melamine is much easier to clean (counter top like material). Good luck and I'm sure she'll love your design (well after a few months anyway-- you know igs and change!)

: That is the question!! Lizzy's new enclosure will be in a room that has a lot of windows on two adjacent walls. The cage will be sitting in this corner. The other two walls open into the house. I thought she would like a panoramic view. It will be sitting in the middle of the room, not up against a wall. I would rather not use wood because either she won't be able to see outside, or we won't be able to enjoy her in the room. But I see the problem with the reflection. (However Lizzy voluntarily crawls up on my bed and sits in front of the mirror for hours. She bobs a while, then seems to enjoy the company!) Her current habitat is wood on all sides except the front, which has the plastic-mesh-screen whatever you call it stuff. That worked just fine until she became gravid. She clawed a hole big enough to climb through. Now she uses it as a foot hold so that she can climb to the top of the cage. I have also worried if she really stays warm enough with the screen. The temp averages between about 78-89 degrees. Would it help if I used wood on the two ends of the cage, but left plexiglass on the two big sides? I need to make up my mind soon because the builder is beginning to get put out with me. He's having to change his plan every time I get new info from you all! By the way, thanks for all of the continued input!
