Broken Rib

My friends Iguana has a Broken Rib, I know because I can felt it.
But the thing is that it has been like this for a year or more now. What will the vet be able to do for this iguana. Friend told me that the ig has never shown any bad signs because of it. and he moves around great like any other healthy Iggy.
I have an Iguana myself, and he seems as healthy as mine.
Just curious, cause I thought there was nothing that could be done to help out a broken Rib.
