a student of mine recently gave me his iguana. he'd bought it from some clown selling them out of boxes in downtown la. he did not know how to take care of it- hence it was very dehydrated, so much so that it could neither move, nor open it's eyes. i nursed it back to hydration (via pedialyte and oj)- it was even able to eat an occasional bit of fruit or greens- this morning i gave it cranberry juice before i went to work. it was dead when i returned. what do you think? previous infection? cranberry juice? overall stress? i really thought it was on the road to recovery... (temperature had been maintained, and i even got it out in the sun several times during the past 2 weeks... help- i feel horrible and terribly responsible for this death.
