I'm "rescuing" an Ig this Saturday, I haven't seen him/her yet and was told s/he's not in all that great condition, s/he's missing the "spines on its back and part of it's tail" and was previously only fed iceberg lettuce.
I have a pretty fair experience with lizards, I've raised two Water Dragons and just gotten myself into the insanity of owning a Nile Monitor....but I'm not very familiar with Igs as far as anatomy goes.
Ahem.... on with that question...
I've read that is is possible for their tails to grow back, is this true? If so, how long does this usually take?
Also, one more lil thing.... the soon-to-be previous owner tells me he's mostly a goldish color, with a little bit of green on the bottom...
Why might this be? Or is it just common with a type of sub-species?
Thank you SO much for any advice or answers you may offer me, I appreciate it!
