Yes, I am in southern Fla so he will be OK if he makes it back outside. I am so annoyed that these guys captured him. I found out that they were fighting to get him for a long time (even broke the end of his tail) and then they said that they have seen him out there for over a year--why would they upset his home like that to bring him to me?? Guess people don't understand that it's ok for them to be outside, esp. after seeing them as pets in my home. It makes me mad. He was very very docile, and rode here in my friends truck sitting on his arm the whole way, he let me pick him right up --the only time I felt him tense up was when I was walking up my stairs, then I knew I was dead meat cause I didn't even have a towel or anything.
Good news--I think--is that the space he crawled in everyone is telling me is hollow space in the cabinet (the V-corner) under the counter with cabinets on each side. Everyone swears that there is no way he could get to the walls from there--it's sheetrocked off, but I swear I heard him in the wall over the stove (they say it's the way the sound carried and there's no way), but I haven't heard a peep from him since yesterday so that's why I thought he was out of here. I live in an apt by the way. I haven't heard one movement or scratch whatsoever and put food near the entrance he went in. I will do what I can today--I am alone today, don't want to cut any holes! ha ha..but maybe call animal control later? Tell them to free him outside here? Or do you think that he really should go back to where he came from? Any more advice on dealing with wild igs and their personalities is appreciated!
Lisa
