I have made it through day one, but I didn't get him to eat. I gave him bell peppers, radishes, carrots and bananas. I also went to the store and bought some fresh greens and gave those to him, but he already had gone to bed. I knew that the lizards neede to soak and I gave him an old cake pan with water and he soaked and shed alot of skin. he loved it. He has been pretty nice to catch and handle( I am careful, I know I could lose a finger in the mouth). Should I be worried that he didn't eat? He loved the cage, but it is small. If no one clames him( no phone calls yet) I will make a large place for him out doors. I live in south florida so it is warm enough here. the rescues and zoos keep their out except in the coldest part of winter. I am planning on making his cage 10 foot by 12 foot. I think thisshould be pretty good. I saw the plans in a book on breeding iguanas( I do not plan on breeding but I want him to have enough room. Also if you bring him inside he doesn't try to run away, but rather he watches you. I kinda like him I guess.

Diet: Try green beans, yellow squash, carrots are okay, but as for the broccoli, use the stems and only a little bit of the flower part (it can prevent proper absortion of other good stuff). Collard or mustard greens make a nice supplement, in fact you can carefully hold the whole leaf in front of them, and they may tear off pieces vs. shredding it for him/her.

: 86-92 degrees gen temp is ideal, and the cage you have will prob do for the short interim (the bigger the better), but would normally need to be a little larger. Keep water inside, something to climb up on to bask, and use a heat light up top, but not too close as they'll burn themselves without realizing their doing themselves harm. They cary salmenela (sp?), so wash after handling. Movements on your part should be slow, or you'll scare him/her and make it skiddish to you and potentially others in the future. That's about it from here, think of anything else I'll pass it on! Happy Ig'ing :-)
