: Does your iguana use both basking spots or only one? You need to check the area(s) and see if they are up to correct temps. By basking light I assume you mean the expensive ones that sorta "pinpoint" the light downward. Try using just regular lightbulbs. If you can get the temps up to the right spot with this kind of bulb, you'll save money ;o)
: And keep in mind that with the change of seasons you will need to re-check temps and adjust your bulb wattages as needed.
yes he moves around and goes from one side to the other basking site . the basking spots are at the right temps. i have thermometers at each site aslo i do use zoomeds basking spots they seem to be the best i have found so far good heat and light, ive tried bulbs of the same wattage by different companys and zoomed wins they are around 6-7 dollars each. regular house bulbs produce heat but not the uv rays needed ? do you use a flouresent bulb with youre regular household bulbs ? i guess back in the old days before reptile products emerged people probably used regular bulbs ha? i do change the bulb wattage during certain seaons like summer or winter thanks mike has youre iguana had any health problems using the house bulbs? see ya mike
