No...no health problems due to using regular light bulbs *grin* Yes, I have the zoo-med UVB flourescents in addition to regular light bulbs. I use the regular ones just to get the heat....and a 4-pack of those are under $2. I usually spring for the expensive reptile basking lights in the winter unless we are having a mild one. I used those expensive ones for years until I read about using regular ones at Melissa Kaplan's site. But I can see the need for the expensive reptile ones especially if you live in an area that it's hard to get the temps up.
