I took her in thinking sever parasites as her condition diminshed rapidly. She was lethargic, dehydrated and off feed. I was feeding her pedyalyte, baby food, and superworm innnards. I had to wait for the herp vet to come in as he only works 4 days a week. So he looks in her mouth and notices the high yellow color and thick saliva. Right away he mentioned liver failure, or possibly parasites migrating through the liver. The only thing that stopped him from doing no treatment was the fact that beardies can change their mouth the yellowish color, one of the few that can. I don't have the finances to pay for x-rays, blood work, ect. I told him that right off and he understood. So we went about with IV fluids, vitamin B and Potassium. Trying to rehydrate her and get her appetit going. I adopted her from a reptile rescuer, somebody that takes in injured or unwanted animals an cares for them and keeps them until she finds sutible homes for them. If she never does they never leave her. This particular dragons story is that she was attacked by a dog along with a cage mate an the other dragon was killed. The vet said this is cause for the problems, severe trauma. So now I'll try for two more days, if things don't even improve a little I'll put her down. I don't want her suffering. Thanks for all your help, and yes, it did help. God bless you and your lizards.
Christy and all of us scaly ones.
