Hi everyone! Let me tell you a story about my friend, Mike Milo, and his iguanas. A couple months ago, Mike's brother found a cage with it's door wide open and 2 iguannas inside. This cage was by the side of the road. Some body was obviously trying to get rid of them =(. Well, his brother picked the cage up and Mike bought them from him for $20. I'm glad Mike got them, because if anybody in this world loved animals, whether they be scaley, furry, or feathery, it would be Mike. Well, mike had no idea on how to take care of these igs. He had no basking lamps and was feeding them anything he could find, including bread and grasshoppers. Well, when he told me he had igs, i quickly printed out MK's web page, gave him a book about igs, and gave him the address to this forum. Since then he's been feeding them properly and providing them with heat and sunlight. I took a look at them, and allthough they are still young, you can tell he has a male and a female. They are both about the same size (about 8" snout to vent) but one has a larger head, and a larger dewlap, and longer horn-things at the top of his head. They both seem healthy, but they probably have a calcium defiencincy. I told Mike to go get a calcium supliment and get a UVB light. Also, i trip to the vet wouldn't hurt.
Well i have a couple questions: The male is constantly poking his nose through the wire mesh, does any one have any ideas how Mike can get him to stop doing this? Also, do any of you know any web pages on 'how to make an ig cage'? Mike has a good idea on how to make one, but he said it would cost him over $200. Any of you have any money-saving ideas? You can e-mail him at: milo@2-cool.com
Mike's probably gonna kick my boody if he saw this post, but i'm concerned about his igs, and if he's not gonna ask questions, then i'll ask questions for him. So, i'm sorry Mike, you can kick my boody now.
Thanks in advance! -Megan
