Actually, at around a year(8-10"SVL +/- depending on lots of variables) you can sex igs pretty easily. :)
It is much easier if you have one of each as a comparison though. Female femoral pores are tiny, around the size of these ......... and don't extend outside of the igs thigh. Male femoral pores are about three times that size, a little smaller than these ooooo and they tend to protrude. Males generally develop most of the other secondary sexual characteristics somewhere around 2-3 years.
I can take some pictures of two little iglets that I have (just over a year, M 9"svl, F 8"svl) if anybody wants to see them and compare. Just give me a few days till the hurricane passes. :)
I can take pictures of adult femoral pores also, if anybody would like to see the difference on those.
