Shedding........Oh boy ! Shedding is a fun one. If too many sheds are left on toes and spikes you will have spikes falling off and toes too. Old shed constricts the breathing and growth of the areas in question...such as spikes and toes. Keep misting with warm water and soaking. Most shed comes off on it's own...some need a LITTLE help. Spike and toes, nose and eye areas are sometimes the areas that need the most help. The nose...you'll here a whistling sound when the Ig is breathing..Air getting inbetween the shed and nose. Moisten by tapping water on nose and misting. Usually comes off easy. Be careful ! They don't like you messing with their face too much.I haven't needed to help around eyes and nose . Spikes are not easy sometimes. If you keep spraying with warm water and loosen at the base the shed comes off if when it's ready. If you pull on it...it will bleed at the tip. That means it wasn't ready yet. Keep massaging the spikes for a few days working gently...it will all come off in time. Toes...sometimes need help too. The tail take forever it seems. Moisture is the key.
