Neutering

I've noticed people "talking" about sterilizing a female Ig, but I have never heard anyone mention anything about neutering a male Ig. Is there some reason a male Ig can not be sterilized? I'm assuming that if a male Ig was neutered, the customary aggression associated with "coming into season" wouldn't be a problem. Please let me know.
