first ig, feeding advice needed

I've tried making the MK salad before (for other lizards), and again since I got my new ig. However, when I mix in the alfalfa pellets and mix it up, it becomes mush that looks like chunky, old baby food. After a few hours in the enclosure, it looks like dried-out chunky old baby food.

I guess I need practice, but what can I do in the mean time to avoid wasting so much food?

One option may be to use soy protien powder. I've seen that soy/tofu is bad because of the fat, etc. But does anyone have experience with this stuff? It says 0g of fat.

For a while now I've been making a salad that is usually squash, bell pepper, a bit of shredded carrot, greens (any combination of collard, mustard, and parsley) and sometimes other things like radishes. My beardeds love this mix. It never seems to get a chance to dry out in their enclosure. Now with the ig, I'm trying an MK salad seperate from the greens. Is there any reason to not go back to just one overall salad, and try to get protein into that?

I've also noiced that when I made the salad with fruit, it turned really quickly. So, when I've fed fruit, I've added it only at the time of feeding instead of in the mix stored in the fridge.
