Male iguanas vs. females - what are the differences?

Hi everyone -

I just got a new iguana today! She's a beautiful, three-month-old baby girl. My boyfriend told me that the females don't develop the spikes and outer frills that the males do. Is this true? Can I expect her to look similar to a male in this respect when she's full-grown?

Curious, Lisa
