help on taming new iguana

I recently got an Ig from a local petshop. When I handled him there he was no mean at all. When i took him home he wouldn't let me get near him. two weeks later of working with him he has gotten a little better but still wips at me when i go to pick him up. once i grab him he is fine and doesn't tryto fight back. does anyone have any advice that will help me tame him.
