my new baby ig

I just got a new baby iguaua about a week ago. I gave it time to settle is to his new cage. I tried to hold him today and after he ran from me for aobut 2 min i finaily caught him. After i put him back in his cage i noticed that he looked stressed and he was a dark green almost brown. Is this normal and should i just keep holding him even though he does not like to be held?
