missing nails :(

I have my 3 year old male ig in a home-made 4'x4'x2'
wood enclosure covered with this "chicken wire" like stuff of 1' squares. He seems content but every once in a while I'd notice a missing nail. Recently, though,
I noticed three nails missing from one of his front "hands" and two on the other! Really scary!! I love my
iguana and hate to see hm hurt. He has plenty of nice sturdy branches to climb on and a basking shelf. Do I have to buy him one of thoose expensive plastic coated
wire cages?? Please Help!! Thanks.
