upcomming vet visit

Ok, this may sound like a stupid question (There are no stupid questions, just stupid people!!!), but as I am about to take the new ig to the vet, I have one major concern. How do you transport a 3 1/2' long ig to a vet? Throw him in a little kitty (cat) carrier and hope for the best, or is there some other more humane (LIZmane???) way to go about doing it???
