Potency of Calcium Supplement

Thought this would be a good place to doublecheck some info I got from a reptile store. I have some Rep-Cal that allegedly expired in July. Fellow at reptile store told me to continue using it because it never truly expires. He said the govt. makes companies put an expiration date on there but it never goes bad.
