i believe FOR THE MOST PART that it IS true> the vitamins/calcium don't magically lose their potency at midnite of the expiration date ... (for solids or powder not liquids).....if you use the rest of the can/bottle it is PROBABLY going to be JUST FINE ..... this is assuming that it was tightly sealed ..... YES, the gov't makes just about EVERYone put expiration dates on just about EVERYthing .... it IS a way to attempt to assure reasonable freshness/potency..... the bottle of Tylenol i just bought expires in Feb. 2001!!!!! so if something HAS expired odds are it's YEARS old .... but, again, that SHOULDN'T
be a major problem IF the bottle/can had been sealed since it's manufacture .....
BTW .... ever wonder about those 2 for 1 sales at the grocery store????? chances are, that box of cereal (or whatever) will expire in a week or so and then they can NOT legally sell it!!! not sure about the legality of expired pet supplies tho ...unethical at best .....
i think that was MORE than $.02!!!!!
*grin*
:P + :)
