Hi, I have the 2000 issue, REPTILES USA 2000 ANNUAL, of REPTILES magazine. In an article about iguanas under protein it mentioned that some softened dog food meant for seinor dogs was appropriate. This is what it says: "Adult iguanas also need very small amounts of supplemental protein, 1 to 3 percent of their diet. Hatchlings and fast growing juveniles have higher protein needs, so increase supplememtal protein during these stages. Foods that fall into th supplememtal protein category inclued the following: Monkey biscuits, tofu, low-fat, meat-free dog food formulated for older dogs." Direct quote from magazine article by James W. Hatfield III, author of the Green Iguana- The Ultimate Owner's Manual.
My question is, Is this true and should I do this as a very tiny part of my 6year old iguanas diet? This is not a prank to get anyone upset or anything. anyone with this issue can verify this is correct information out of the magazine. I have no intention to start WWIII. Like some people posting insane/provoking posts. Thank you.
