MITES HELP!!!

Yes I have a 3ft green iguana that about for days ago noticed mites on him so i took everything out of his terrium and just put plain white paper down.I give him a bath 2 times a day and i change his paper daily, i force feed him ground up dog food,with B-complex and vitamin E and i also smash up pears to put in his food. then i force feed him 2 times daily with food and water. yesterday i gave him a shower and just out of ceriusty i picked up his heating stone and there was probobly 4 to 5 hundred little mites i took that papre out side and poored gasoline on it and burned it he, seems to be getting a little bit beter but i just want to do everything i can and get him back to normal hes about 3 years old now cause i got himwhen i was 9. THANKS FOR ALL UR HELP AND USFULL HELP.
