i work in a pet store and we occasionly have mite probs. here is what we do. at your local pet store they should have medicine for it. we use a spray type called rep rinse. place the ig in an enclosure that will hold him and sprey this on him. watch out for his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. for the head region use a cotton sab (q-tips) and work the areas. also make sure to pay attention under the arms and legs and any other folds of skin (dewlap). after he is coated let him sit for 15 minutes. then rinse him off really really good. as for the cage i would bleah it and anything else you plan on putting back in the cage. you might have to do this a few times (once a week?) but it should clear it up.
