Neutering Green Iguana...questions

I was checking the recent posts and saw that iguanas can be neutered...I hadn't heard that this was an option before, and would like some further info, i.e. pros and cons, effects on health, anything you can think of. Also, (while I'm here) my iguana Lemmy had an injury over the winter and lost some weight.Not too much, but it is noticeable so I'm just wondering if there are any suggestions for helping him bulk up a bit now that he's all healed up. Thanks!
