Just wanted to thank you for the insight, and say that I don't really see what any uproar would be about. I got my cat neutered and it was the best thing for both of us. I would say that if it curtails nasty behavior in males and makes them easier to manage, then that would in turn add to their quality of life as the rep owner would probably enjoy the ig more as a pet.
As for his injury, Lemmy was being returned to his pen one day midwinter when he threw an absolute fit. Between the snapping and croc rolls etc., he managed to break his upper leg bone. I am embarassed to admit that we were unable to see a vet due to unemployemnt at the time of the injury, and I had to manage as best I could with a splint etc., but we got through the ordeal and now are healed up quite nicely. You can still tell by looking art his leg that there was an injury, but he has maintained full mobility, which was a worry I had. I just recently have been back to work, so a similar situation will not go un-vetted again. Ain't "guilt" wonderful....?
