I don't feed him alfalfa as a staple. It is so hard to find around here because there are no feed & grain stores around here. I usually cut up three or four veggies, throw in a chopped up dried fig, and one type of greens per week. Should I use more greens at one time? He is so picky about what he will eat. Sometimes, he goes on a little fast just to let me know that he doesn't like what I'm serving him. Thanks for the info,
Shannon a.k.a. CyberIguana.
: I make his salad for the week, and when I get ready to serve it, THEN I mix some greens in. I also serve greens on the side.
: Alfalfa is often the culprit of soggy food. (It naturally breaks down the food. Predigestion--yuck!)Do you use alfalfa? You could also, especially during the spring, use fresh veggies or even frozen.
: Another trick I use is a 'Salad Spinner' to drain the veggies and greens after I wash them. It spins the veggies very fast inside a colander and throws off the excess moisture. You can find one at a kitchen specialty shop. It has been a BIG help in preparing Bad Boy's food.
: I hope this helps. Aren't they demanding little creatures?! Good luck!
: Tammy
