I caught IZ's Mom's post over at Herp Health....on Baytril injections.....and something about it stirred my noodle...but at work when giving IMs we Z track em....so there is no necrosis....which occurs with virtually any medication but especially so with some. Besides Z tracking we also will dilute some meds with saline, sterile water, or Ringers solution don't know if this applies to igs tho....but for anyone giving injections....this Z tracking method is pretty good....especially since meds won't leak from the site as well ...Its simply moving the muscle a little to either side with a little push of the hand or fingers.....inject meds......remove needle and release....no leaking, little if any necrosis at or from the site ( no more abcesses... on human tissue that is! really not sure if works on reptiles but what the hay!) Quick, efficient absorption ....I don't think anyone here is getting injections tho anymore but wonderin if it could be done on igs if needed.
