OK...I was finally done with my mini timothy hay and alfalfa hay bales....igs won't eat alfalfa pellets which Im not to keen on now because of the D3 and protein content of em....so bought alfalfa supplements they were on sale at Sav-Ons a major drug store chain here in Cali. anyway....good thing they were on sale..but how come I still feel like I got ripped off!
These supplements are: Protein free, fat free, fiber free, sugarfree, vitamin A free, and cholestrol free....lol $6.00 for all this "FREE" stuff! I know the container couldn't a cost $6.oo to make....Here's what the $ went towards:
Per 3 tablets of alfalfa:
Potassium 25 mg
Sodium 20 mg
Calcium 2%
Iron 4%
Vitamin C 6%
It still has the same odor as pellets! And as of yesterday the igs still haven't eaten it! (I dilute the tabs in water then mix with their salad). What Im wondering is WHY would anyone use alfalfa supplements? Im sure there are other alfalfa supplements that have some plant protein or something beneficial in them right? Anyone know offhand...or read about alfalfa supplements with better nutritional content? Curious
